JOIN AFTER HOURS ~>

I am taking a few weeks off from the pod to tend to my own healing and self-care following some recent health issues. While I take a short break, my behind the scenes podcast ninja, Darlene, will be sharing some of the After Hours Community’s favorite and most impactful podcast episodes. Below is the original description for this week’s Community Favorite on the topic of perfectionism.

I used to flippantly refer to myself as a Perfectionist and oftentimes I would elude to it being somewhat of a badge of honor. As I got older and my anxiety increased, I realized that being a chronic perfectionist was actually STEALING my joy instead of making my job easier. But, how does one just stop being a perfectionist?

Perhaps you find yourself in the same boat; Vacillating between being SOLD on the idea that everything has to be just perfect and the conflicting desire to let things “go with the flow” or just be “good enough”. If you’ve found yourself in this dance, you are most certainly not alone. In this week’s episode, I break down just how detrimental the strive for perfection can be and how it often leads to much suffering, frustration, and angst.

Additionally, I dig into 5, easy-to-implement steps you can take to begin allowing room for your humanity without sacrificing excellence and how you can maintain your integrity AND your sanity.

This pod explores:

  • Why “Perfect” doesn’t really exist and how the pursuit of perfection can be #supes detrimental
  • How to figure out the personal “Rules” you’ve established for yourself that have locked you into perfectionism
  • How the quest for perfection keeps you trapped in the small picture rather than the big picture and why that matters
  • How to allow room for excellence and integrity in what you do, without the “pressure of perfect”
The event mentioned in this episode is no longer available, but why not grab this FREE eWorkbook teaching you how to stand up for yourself without being a dick? Um. Yes, please.
